since 2016. We are in awe of this woman!

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Amanda and I’m a mom of 3 boys and have a wonderful husband who is also my business partner. I started working in fashion and retail at 16 years old and I never looked back! I have my Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design and always had a love for sewing and creating clothing.

Tell us about your kids, challenges of motherhood and what you love about motherhood.

I am a proud boy mama. My boys are 6 years, 3 years, and 9 months old. They keep me very busy and on the go all day long. I love them very much, but it’s not easy being a full-time working mom while raising 3 babies.

I don’t get a lot of sleep and there are many sacrifices I have to make, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I also feel like I am showing them how to work hard and achieve their goals as they grow up.

Why did you want to start your company?

I struggled to find good quality, pretty and functional nursing and pumping bras when I was a new mom. I could not believe the lack of options. I also happened to already be a bra designer in the industry and have experience in this. After doing a lot of research and noticing how many brands put forth little effort in making maternity bras, I thought I might be the perfect person for this job. I love being able to help moms find something to help their breastfeeding journey be successful.

Can you tell us about your company, your message and your products?

DAVIN&ADLEY offers a collection of beautiful lace nursing and pumping combo bralettes and one piece reusable nursing pads. The designs are compatible with all the modern breastpump technology, making sure everyone has something that works for them, as well as making them feel beautiful postpartum.

How do you balance running your own business and motherhood?

Family making a meal in the kitchen

I’m not sure I figured this one out yet! It’s hard and I ask for a lot of help from family to make it work. Without my support system, it would not be possible!

In what way do you offer breastfeeding support to your moms?

I always remind my customers that I’m not a lactation professional, but I have been breastfeeding since 2016 almost nonstop with my 3 children. I have so much knowledge and experience on breastfeeding that this brand is my way of sharing what I know with the world and giving back to this community

What was the greatest breastfeeding challenge for you? What is the best part about breastfeeding?

The early days of breastfeeding were difficult with all 3 of my kids. Latching issues, supply issues, tongue tie clip, bottle refusal…we went through it all. The best part by far is when you find that groove around the 2-3 month mark. You can relax and just enjoy the experience without so much stress.

Do you have any breastfeeding advice for new moms?

Don’t give up if it’s not happening for you right away. I have had 3 successful journeys and all 3 started out difficult with issues.

You might have to push through some hard times to get to the beautiful part. Find a support group or community you can be part of; it’s 100% the reason I made it each time and I still talk to the moms that I met during my early days as a new mommy.

What is your favorite way to bond with your babies?

Contact naps and baby wearing. I love being close to my babies! This also helps make breastfeeding easier if they stay close by at all times! Now that 2 of my boys are older, I make a point to lay with them at bedtime and snuggle, so this is a perfect way to bond even as they grow up.
